The Veterans Day ceremony has been moved to Friday, November 13 due to rain.
Please join the community on November 13 to celebrate Veterans Day. The annual national holiday is set aside to recognize and thank our country’s veterans. A special Veterans Day ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the city’s Veterans Monument located on the Town Green.
Participating in the hour-long program is the Wesleyan School Chamber Singers and Wesleyan’s Band & Saxophone Quartet. Posting of colors will be performed by NHS JROTC. Councilmember and Navy veteran Alex Wright will serve as the master of ceremonies. Mayor Mike Mason, also a U.S. Navy veteran, will provide remarks along with Colonel Bob Ballagh (U.S.A. Retired), the executive director of the Peachtree Corners Veterans Monument Association.
Fifty-nine new pavers and five newly engraved wall caps will be installed before Nov. 13 and may be viewed after the ceremony. Volunteers will be available to assist with locating the new pavers.
There will a limited number of chairs for guests which are reserved for the elderly and the disabled. If you wish to sit during the event, please bring your own chair. Facemasks and six-foot social distancing are required.
