Pinecrest Academy has reported a 94% acceptance rate of the high school’s seniors into the University of Georgia (UGA) so far this year. The average acceptance rate into UGA is around 42%.

This achievement is not a one-time occurrence, as Pinecrest seniors have been gaining a higher than average acceptance into UGA for a number of years. The Class of 2022 achieved an 86% acceptance rate into UGA, when the average acceptance into the university was roughly 42%.

In 2021, Pinecrest students were at an 86% acceptance rate when UGA’s overall rate was about 40%. And the Class of 2020 earned a 63.2% acceptance rate, as compared to the overall UGA rate of 46%.

“I’m so proud of our students and grateful for our gem of a college counselor,” commented Amy Bowman, Pinecrest Academy High School Principal. “Never underestimate the value of a personalized application.”

Mrs. Bowman references the personalized counseling provided to each student by Ms. Marjorie Poss, High School Counselor. The high school team’s goal is to help students find the best college fit, with the potential for the highest rate of success for each student, based on individual talents and interests, in addition to grades and test scores.

The 70-member Class of 2022 earned acceptances into 78 colleges and universities in the United States and abroad, and the Class of 2023 is following suit.

The college-preparatory private Catholic school has also been named the #1 Catholic High School in the State of Georgia for three consecutive years, and has also been ranked #10 Best Private High School School in the State of Georgia.
