For authentic Cuban cuisine, live music every night, dancing, and a laidback, festive atmosphere, invite your holiday party guests to Mojitos. This family-owned and operated, Cuban restaurant boasts a splendidly friendly staff, and dedicates a tremendous amount of time and resources to daily prep-work in order to deliver only the freshest family recipes that are subject to quality control by the head chef and creator of said recipes herself, the matriarch of the family.

Her son, Alexander Cortes, General Manager of Operations, allowed me to pick his brain about hosting a unique holiday party there. His dad is a chef. His parents, sister, and brother-in-law co-own the restaurant. His sister, Yanin Fernandez, and her husband also play with the band on Friday and Saturday; she sings, he plays several instruments. It’s really all in the family here! And they love to share their heritage with you through their food and music.

Feliz Mojitos

No shocker there, it’s in the name, after all. They’re serving up the best Mojitos in town! The lime juice is freshly squeezed, and the mint is picked fresh, daily. There are no drinks made with pre-mixers at this bar.

Your Cuban Christmas party could be as small as 15 people, and as large as 200. Inside, 100 can be comfortably seated. Outside on the all-season patio, you can seat 50.

Either the bar area or the patio would be an ideal place to host a cocktail hour for a maximum of 60-80 guests. If you had a larger-scale happy hour in mind, you could use the whole restaurant and fit 200 inside, up to 300 if you also make use of the patio.

How About a Holiday Party at Mojitos?

Enjoy different musicians every night. See performances from a Flamenco guitarist, an R&B cover band, and Abe Parker, an acoustic cover singer. If you wish to be part of the entertainment from the patio, large garage doors open allowing you to enjoy the acts from outside. If you’d rather have a more intimate gathering, the doors remain shut.

“Our food is all fresh and seasoned here. Our roast pork leg cooks for 4 hrs. We season it the night before. It takes a lot of prep work every day. We have four to five people coming in every morning just for prep, that doesn’t include the chefs,” emphasized Cortes.

Custom menus for parties are planned in advance upon your request. “It really depends on what type of party you’re looking to organize. We can offer a limited menu. We can do a buffet. No two parties are the same. If you have a vision for your event, we want to make that vision happen.”

In terms of dietary restrictions, they can make gluten free suggestions. Vegetarian options are available. Although more limited, there are some vegan selections too. Most of their dishes are nut free. “We’re very careful about paying attention to any May Contain warnings,” shared Cortes.

Good News! Mojitos Caters! If you can’t make it to Mojitos, they’ll take the Cuban cuisine to you! Within a 10-mile radius, they can cater the food and provide full service at your holiday party, if you need it.

Fun Fact: The family is very involved with Atlanta United. “We took it seriously when they asked us to be a sponsor,” confided Cortes. “We go to some games as one of the affiliates, and we bring precooked Cuban sandwiches and make paella on site – we basically tailgate the restaurant… in the parking lot. It’s fun, and we get to see the game.”

Book it!

They try to be flexible but recommend booking a party at least a week in advance. Parties are normally limited to 3-hour blocks but if you have something else in mind, they can work with you up to 4 hours.

They are open seven days a week: Monday to Thursday, from 11a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Every other Saturday, there’s a serious party going on in the suburbs. They host Havana Night with a DJ, starting at 11 p.m., and patrons take on the night life until 2 a.m. “Havana Nights are announced on Instagram and Facebook,” Cortes pointed-out. You could host a party on those evenings, but it would have to be on the patio. “We can cook paella outside on the patio for 30 people on the weekend, it depends on the night.

Because of the volume of regulars, parties after dark are a little more restricted.

The size of your group is also a factor. You can always start earlier in the day or choose a more open day of the week. However, if it’s small enough, the patio is always a good location for a private event on busy nights.

Party Packages are based on needs and everything is customizable. “We’ll have suggested foods in each package but if there is something you really want, we can always add it, even if it’s a higher-end item. Then we’ll rework the rest of the menu to fit… [your desired price range]” said Cortes.

• Lower: $14 – $20 Soft drinks, beer and house wine can be included in the $20 range.
• Drink Tickets are available as well. You can limit the alcohol to two drinks per guest for example, and you’d pay $7 for each ticket.  
• Mid: $30-$35 per person. This tier offers a broader selection of food, higher end choices, Mojitos, and well drinks. There is a two-hour maximum for the open bar.
• High: $40 – $45 per person. All drinks are included, open bar style. Appetizers and desserts are included as well.
