NORCROSS, Ga. – May 6, 2020- It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week, and teachers from Greater Atlanta Christian School will receive virtual, hand-delivered, and mailed surprises throughout the week. Senior School Administration and the GAC Parents Association (GPA) combined their efforts this year to provide a week-long celebration.

“Our teachers have been so creative in assuring our kids are engaged and feel connected with them.  It’s been a monumental task, I’m certain, but when I see my daughter and son continuing with skill progression, then I want to shower the teachers with appreciation,” shared GPA Co-President, Ashley Davis.

“Teachers have reached hero-status for our family. The strategies they have implemented far exceed what I have experienced with online classes.  It makes me extremely grateful for their dedication and professionalism,” commented GPA Co-President Lani Staebell.

This week teachers and staff will be surprised daily with a special treat at their home, including blue-light blocking glasses, hand-decorated cookies, River Street Sweets bear-claws, hand “clappers,” student-created thank you videos, and special delivery appreciation yard signs.

Dr. Scott Harsh, GAC President, offered, “Our teachers have effected a strong virtual culture with their students, even though it’s tough to truly replicate the in-school experience.  Our students have responded well to their teachers’ efforts, and these are a few encouragements for everyone to finish strong.”

It’s a nice time for everyone to thank a teacher.
