To meet the eligibility criteria, students needed to have a 3.5 or higher, grade point average.

Students also needed PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 assessment scores within the top 10% of assessment takers in each state, for each award program.

Alternatively, students who earned a score of three or higher on two or more AP Exams in ninth and tenth grade were also eligible.

Lastly, students must attend a school in a rural area or small town, or identify as African American/Black, Hispanic American/Latino or Indigenous/Native.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate Lauren, J.J., Papa and Haymi and recognize them for the great work they have been doing. We’re proud of their strong academic performance in the classroom and on College Board assessments,” said Joseph Koch, high school principal.
