Fun for All Ages: The Neighborhood Christmas Train 2024 Experience

Metro Atlanta’s largest Christmas train display chugs along for 2024
Train enthusiasts of all ages can take in Atlanta’s largest Christmas train display and support their neighbors in need at the 2024 Neighborhood Christmas Train Experience in Norcross, GA through December 22.
The 2024 experience is bigger and better than ever, with eleven running Lionel model trains traveling past different model neighborhoods that feature hundreds of homes, shops and churches — including a reborn Notre Dame Cathedral.
LEGO additions and interactive fun
LEGO-lovers will be “riveted” by construction on a new LEGO Avengers Tower, as floors are added week to week. The experience’s LEGO Town of Bethlehem has also grown with more LEGO trains and buildings.
More than visual, Neighborhood Christmas Train is an interactive experience as well: kids will enjoy the Choo-Choo Challenge by uncovering hidden clues as they drive their own Matchbox cars around the entire neighborhood layout.

Fun for a good cause
Proceeds from the holiday event benefit the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM). Serving families in Southwest Gwinnett County, NCM provides emergency assistance, including rent, utilities, food, clothing and medical.
“It’s been exciting to see this event grow in scope as well as the level of community enthusiasm” said Jonathan Galucki, president of Peachtree Campus, the event sponsor. “The trains draw kids and adults of all ages, and by partnering with the NCM, we assist our neighbors in this special season.”
Hours and special dates
Open weekends, December 7-8, December 14-15 and December 21-22
Hours: Saturday evenings 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday afternoons 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

About the experience
The Neighborhood Christmas Train Experience features an amazing village that includes over 300 homes, shops and churches, along with mountain-top chalets, diners, Home Depot and an amusement park.
Multiple running Lionel trains keep a tight schedule and add excitement to the experience. Best of all, kids can run their own train at the Lionel Christmas Train Station, choosing from four different train lines including The Polar Express, Hogwarts, Mickey Mouse or Frozen.
These Lionel ready-to-run sets are also available to purchase and take home from the gift shop.
