Cornerstone Christian Academy is celebrating double basketball victories and an undefeated season for both of their seventh grade teams.
After going undefeated and winning the Metro League regular season, the Cornerstone Cougars girls basketball team entered the championship playoffs as the #1 seed.
They downed the team from St. Francis in the first round, eased past Whitefield and then defeated Mt. Vernon to claim the Metro League Championship and complete an undefeated season at 15-0.
On the boys’ side, the team entered the tournament as the #1 seed and began the playoffs by defeating North Cobb Christian and the team from Fellowship before matching up against the talented Mt. Vernon team in the championship.
The Cornerstone Cougars boys team finished their season 16-0 by winning a thrilling game (44-43 over Mt. Vernon) to secure the Metro League Championship.
