2019 Peach State Junior Closed Championship, in Peachtree Corners

One Love Tennis was awarded the 2019 Peach State Jr. Closed Championship to be played in Atlanta, May 24-28. The main venue for this event will be Lifetime Athletic & Tennis in Peachtree Corners, with satellite sites to include Hudlow Tennis Center, The Fields Club by the Forum, The Falls of Autry Mills, Pro Tennis International, and Greater Atlanta Christian School.  600 families are expected to be in the Peachtree Corners area during the event.

The Peach State Jr. Closed (formerly named the GA Jr. Qualifying) has a rich history. Former professional players, including Melanie Oudin, Ashley Harkleroad, Robby Ginepri and Bobby Reynolds, all played in the GA State Closed Jr. Qualifier.

When this event was renamed the Peach State Jr. Closed Championships in 2016, the eventual 2018 French Open Jr. Girls winner, Cori Gauff, was the Girls 18’s champion. The tournament was hosted in Macon for 30 + years.

Partnering with USTA Georgia, One Love Tennis are making plans to ensure that this event becomes one of the premier junior tennis tournaments in America. In addition to the Peach State, One Love Tennis will host 20 tournaments throughout the year, including the G12 USTA National Championship.

The Format of the tournament:Peac

This tournament is open to the top 64 players in each age category. Over 600 kids, ranging from ages 10-18, will compete in this event over a 5-day period. Each draw will host singles draw and a 32 team doubles draw with a feed-in consolation through the round of 16 for singles and single elimination for doubles. There will be a 3/4 playoff match for the singles and doubles draw in each event.
